Global Change 2009

The end of the financial
and economic crisis

A word of thanks to our contributors

There are few ideas in our film or on the website that are our own – we have simply collated the findings of many thinkers and movements and hope that we have managed to go some way to sorting out some of the errors and mistakes.

We therefore do not want to miss this opportunity to name the most significant contributors of these ideas. In addition to the names below are countless people who have participated in the film and the website through their publications and discussions, both knowingly and unknowingly. We would like to acknowledge all named and unnamed participants – the following are the most important contributors of ideas that immediately come to mind:

We would like to thank:
  • Adam Smith for his basic theses on the market economy and liberalism,
  • Silvio Gesell for his idea of money that cannot be stockpiled,
  • Karl Marx for his analysis of capitalism,
  • Dr Paul C Martin for his description of the financial problem of debitism,
  • the movement for a basic income,
  • the ‘green’ idea of taxing the harmful use of resources,
  • ATTAC movement for their idea of taxing financial transactions,
  • the discussion group of the Zschopautaler association (practical money that cannot be stockpiled),
  • Timo Leukefeld who inspired us with the idea of ecological design,
  • Dr Heike Claus who sensitised us to the psychological side of the questions,
  • Reinhard Mey for his songs such as ‘Narrenschiff‘ – ‘Nein - meine Söhne geb ich nicht‘ – ‘seid wachsam!
